Miss Samford Amanda Tapley Named Miss Alabama
Miss Samford Amanda Tapley was named Miss Alabama 2008 at the end of the annual scholarship pageant competition Saturday night, June 7. Tapley, a piano performance and pre-medicine major, recently completed her sophomore year at Samford.
The Birmingham native impressed the audience with her performance of "Piano Concerto No. 1 in B-flat Minor," as she did in winning the Miss Samford title last November. Her pageant platform is "Music for a Cure" of pediatric diseases.
The Miss Alabama Scholarship Pageant is held annually in Wright Center on the Samford campus.
