Samford Dance Ensemble Sets Nov. 15 & 16 Shows

The Samford University Dance Ensemble will present a variety of dance styles in its fall show Nov. 15 and 16.  Performances are at 7 p.m. in the Homewood High School Auditorium.  The 12-member ensemble will perform hip hop, ballet en pointe and other dance styles.             

Lisa Gibbs, the group's faculty mentor, wants to encourage people to attend, "because it is a great way to show our Samford community spirit and support for the emerging dance program," Gibbs said.  "Live performance commands all your senses, and leaves you with a deeper understanding of what it means to be human."

Gibbs, an adjunct professor of dance and program support specialist, is also a professional dancer with Southern Danceworks.

Tickets are $5 for students and children, and $8 for adults. They can be purchased at the door or by e-mailing sudance@samford.edu.
