BJCPA EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR WALKER TO SPEAK AT SAMFORD

BIRMINGHAM---Brent Walker, executive director of the Baptist Joint Committee on Public Affairs (BJCPA), will speak on church-state issues at Samford University Thursday, Feb. 8. The public is invited to the 10 a.m. program in Reid Chapel.

The BJCPA, dedicated to advocating the Baptist principle of religious liberty, is based in Washington, D.C.

Walker was a partner in a successful Tampa, Fla., law firm before entering seminary and receiving a Master of Divinity degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is both a member of the U.S. Supreme Court Bar and an ordained minister.

An adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center, he has appeared on such national programs as MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour, CNN's Talk Back Live and NBC's Today.

Walker's appearance is sponsored by the Samford Pre-Law Society as part of the university convocation series.
