Samford University has been named to a list of 100 "Colleges Worth Considering" compiled by Washington Post education reporter Jay Mathews.
The list of "colleges and universities that deserve bigger reputations" appeared in the April 1 edition of The Post.
"I called them hidden gems," said Mathews, who enlisted the help of high school guidance counselors in compiling the list.
Samford "offers a range of opportunities in education, nursing, pharmacy, the performing arts and pre-professional courses for future doctors and lawyers," said Mathews' story.
