Samford University offers a full range of classes in biology,
many of which include field activities. Portion of the
invertebrate and vertebrate zoology classes are taught in the
field at Oak Mountain State Park. Students shown in the
photographs below are capturing images of various
invertebrates at the park. The faculty in the Biology Department
at Samford University teach photographic techniques to
students as a method for documenting specimens in the field.
This reduces the necessity to kill or capture specimens during
routine studies and supports our conservation efforts.
