    Ceramics I

    Aug. 25 - Oct. 13, 2014 (Mon., 6 - 8 p.m.)

    In this exciting course, adult ceramics students will make press mold bowls, stencil tiles, create a still life in clay, and a sgraffito plate, as well as learn proper glazing techniques from local ceramic artist, Carolyn Wass.

    Ceramics for Children

    Sep. 11 - 25, 2014 (Thu., 4 - 5:30 p.m.) 

    Children ages 8-12, join local ceramic artist Carolyn Wass for a three-week clay class. The class will meet every other week. Students will learn to create fun projects from clay. Build pinch pot animals and clay stencil tile wall hanging using many fun designs. Each class is small with personal attention from the instructor. This class is for children who have or have not worked with clay before. Everything a young artist will need is included: non-toxic clays, glazes, firing, and materials. 

    Ceramics: Primitive Clay Projects

    Oct. 23 - Nov. 6, 2014 (Thu., 6 - 8 p.m.) 

    Connect with the early history of clay through “cave paintings” and primitive handbuilding techniques and decorating styles. 

    Creating Ceramic Animal/Creature Masks

    Sep. 11 - 25, 2014 (Thu., 6 - 8 p.m.) 

    Design, sculpt and glaze your own kiln fired clay creature mask (mask is a ceramic art piece and not to be worn). Students will focus on sculpting and glazing techniques necessary for life size face pieces. All supplies are included.
