Affordability (Money)

As you consider where you will attend college, we encourage you to consider the total experience, not just the listed price of tuition!  Our goal is to make Samford affordable for all our student families, not just a select group.  As a matter of practice, our merit scholarships are limited, and students above the middle 50% score ranges for the freshman class each year are evaluated.  Scholarship recipients are then selected by the Scholarship Committee.  About 15% of our freshmen each year receive merit scholarships and quickly make significant contributions to the campus. However, Samford has determined, based upon our mission and purpose, the most effective manner in assisting families financially is from the point of need.  All students are encouraged to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and students seeking need-based aid consideration are required to completed the form.

Costs

The total cost for undergraduates is approximately $25,814 annually, including tuition and room and board.

Tuition = $19,300, Room & Board = $6,294, Fees = $220

Samford is fortunate to have a large university endowment that serves to reduce the cost of tuition for all students, keeping the cost reasonably low in relation to comparable schools.  Most fees are included in the above cost estimate.
