Beginning with swing dancing on Thursday night and ending with storming the football field after an overtime victory on Saturday evening, Homecoming 2013 at Samford was action packed and full of memories.
With glittering chandeliers hanging from above, a rocking jazz band on stage, and more than 1,100 students packed in Seibert gym - the Homecoming Ball kicked off one of the most exciting events of the year at Samford.
Before heading to the Quad fortailgating, hundreds of students representing numerous clubs at Samford had theopportunity to show off their floats in the Homecoming parade. Shortly after the parade, the tailgating scene was in full force and packed with students, parents, alumni, faculty members, and even preview students looking to join inon the fun next year! The free food, music, and fun times shared by all madethe tailgating experience one of the best yet.
With the Southern Conference lead at stake, excitement continued to increase as the Samford Bulldogs took the field to face the Chattanooga Mocs. With an extra quarter of football played, the Bulldogs wrapped up Homecoming week with a phenomenal 17-14 overtimevictory that sent fans storming on the field to celebrate.
The excitement captured in the footage of the video throughout Homecoming does not do justice as to how electrifying the week was.
I would encourage you to join in on the fun next year as we look to continue one of the most thrilling weeks on campus!
See you next year!
