Volunteer Interest Form

Thank you for your interest in serving Samford University as a volunteer. There are multiple opportunities to share your time, talent and treasure to make possible the Samford experience for a new generation of students.

Please read the brief descriptions below and select the area you see yourself best serving by checking the box next to a description. A University Advancement staff member will follow-up with you directly to further discuss the important role you will play in Samford’s future.

The Alumni Association Advisory Board is ultimately responsible for representing the volunteer efforts of their class. University Advancement staff and board members work together to provide time-tested ideas and methods of engagement and fundraising to class agents, regional agents and reunion agents as guidance for developing their own class strategies. This volunteer role requires a 4-year term of service which is renewable. Alumni serving on the board will have demonstrated a history of volunteer leadership and strong commitment to Samford University.

Class agents cultivate relationships with classmates and encourage them to reconnect to Samford. Sharing this responsibility with one (or more!) co-agents will enable class leaders to benefit from a segmentation strategy and divide the various tasks throughout the year. This volunteer role requires a 4-year term of service.

Regional agents specifically support Samford events around the country. Volunteers in this area also serve as members of the Young Alumni Board, as well as Samford Clubs. This volunteer role requires a 2-year term of service.

As a class nears specific reunions alumni & annual giving staff work with class agents to recruit and organize a class reunion committee. This committee is comprised of class members interested in both fund-raising and program activities. Generally, the class agents or reunion committee chairs will recruit reunion committee members from the class.

Committee members are often, but not limited to, those class members who have served as regional agents during non-reunion years. Because the dollar and participation goals in a reunion year are significantly higher than in other years, reunion committee and program committee chairs depend on a large group of committee members to ensure a successful class reunion. This volunteer role requires a 2-year term of service.
