Make plans to join us October 24-26.  We will celebrate 50 years on the Homewood campus with a parade, candlelight dinner, fireworks and football. 

We expect special reunions for the following groups: Chi Omega, Phi Mu, A Cappella Choir, 1971 Football team and all Letter Winners, ADPi, Sigma Chi, Gamma Sigma Sigma sorority, ZTA and others.

A worship service modeled after the British Evensong tradition and led by Samford students, faculty and alumni.  Timothy P. Banks '74, professor of music, will be the celebrant.

 

6:30 p.m.         Gala, Pete Hanna Center

The gala recreates the 141-year-old tradition of the alumni candlelight dinner The 2008 Alumni of the Year will be recognized.

NOTE:  This event is by invitation only but the Samford Alumni Association has a limited number of seats available on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

7 p.m.              Volleyball:  Samford vs. the Southern Conf. Seibert Gym.

"It's a Grand Night for Singing," an Evening of Honor and Tribute

8:30 p.m.         Homecoming Bash/Pep Rally/Bonfire/Fireworks

Enjoy refreshments and live music, a bonfire and pep rally featuring the Samford Marching Band, cheerleaders, Spike the Mascot and presentation of the 2008 Homecoming Court; followed by a fantastic fireworks finale.  The event will be held in the commuter parking lot next to Seibert Gym.

The Samford Bulldogs host a scrimmage as they prepare for their first season of competition in the nationally recognized Southern Conference.

 

11 a.m.                        Homecoming Parade

Everyone loves a parade, and this year's homecoming parade will be a special treat with floats, the Samford Marching Band and other guest bands, cheerleaders and dignitaries winding through campus from Riley Road around Montague Drive and back through the University Quadrangle.  Winning floats will be parked at Seibert Stadium following the parade and throughout the football game.

 

 

11 a.m.                        Men's basketball scrimmage, Seibert Gym

The Samford men's basketball team hosts a preview for their first season of competition in the nationally recognized Southern Conference.

 

 

11 a.m. –

1:30 p.m.         Homecoming Festival, University Quadrangle

Ever wonder what happened to others who were at Samford at the same time as you but were not in your graduating class?  Rather than single class-year reunions, the Samford Alumni Association and Student Government Association are hosting reunion gatherings by affinity groups and student generations. Featured classes are those from 1957, 1982 and 1987 but graduates from all years are invited to participate.  Other groups already planning special reunions are art department alumni, nursing alumni, ADPi, Samford bands, Sigma Chi,

Chi Omega, Phi Mu, Gamma Sigma Sigma, Zeta Tau Alpha, Air Force ROTC , Chemistry Department  This list will be updated as reunion events are confirmed.

 

Reunion picnic lunch available on the Quad.  Tickets:  TBA, adults or children.  Samford students wishing to eat lunch on the Quad will need to purchase a ticket at registration or have their cards scanned in the cafeteria to receive a ticket.

Children enjoy games, inflatables and other fun activities.  The FunZone remains open throughout the football game. 

Important note:  A football game ticket is required for admission to the FunZone for each adult and child.

6 p.m.              Class of 1958 Golden Reunion dinner, Location TBA  Tickets:  $15 per person
