A Montgomery native of 30 years, Larry Armstrong graduated from Samford University in 1961. His degree in religion led him to attend Southern Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, after graduation. After many years in ministry, he retired in 2006 from Eastern Hills Baptist Church where he served as the Associate Pastor for Education, Administration, and Senior Adults. He and his wife CeCelia met at Samford and have three adult children—Traci Spiller, Holly Drake, and Trent Armstrong. During his time as a student, Larry was involved in the Student Senate, Ministerial Association, and Alpha Phi Omega.
