Terry is respected widely for his interest, creativity, and leadership in music ministry with children. He is active as a curriculum writer and publisher, conference leader, guest conductor, and music advocate. Most recently, Terry led the Director's Enrichment Conferences for Choristers Guild. Many church choir leaders know Terry though his children's curriculum and compositions.
Terry's music advocacy work has been recognized by the American Choral Directors Association. His efforts led to the return of professional music teachers in Dothan, Alabama's public elementary schools. He also gave leadership to the implementation of Arts Integration school reform initiatives in Dothan's under-performing schools. In 2008, Terry was awarded the prestigious "Excellence in the Arts" award from Dothan's Cultural Arts Center.
After moving to Birmingham in 2009, Terry founded the Shades Crest School of the Arts, and established a free outreach music camp called "GlobeBeat." He also serves as an adjunct music faculty member at Samford University. Celebrating Grace, Inc. recently named Terry the Managing Editor of their new children's choir curriculum, due on the market in 2012.
While a student at Belmont, Terry met and married Laurie Evans. The Taylors have two young adult children, Carrie Beth and Jeremy, and one grandson, Cayden.
