All theatre majors are required to pass an oral examination at the end of the semester over the assigned reading list. (see the University Catalogue page 197). Failure to pass the exam or the required makeup materials will result in dismissal from the degree track and/or suspension from production activity.

All theatre majors at Samford University will be assigned to a technical crew and will complete four assigned, pre-scheduled lab hours per week. Failure to complete this requirement will result in the grade of "F" in the required course Theatre Production and suspension from production activities.

Samford University Theatre majors are required to maintain an overall GPA of 2.5 and a departmental GPA of 2.85 to remain in the major.
