Banner Access

 

Banner has two types of Access: Banner Self-Service and INB (Internet Native Banner) (PROD). This website deals primarily with Banner Self-Service.

Banner Self Service

The majority of students, staff, faculty and advisors use Banner Self-Service which is accessible via the Samford University portal. Students receive a Self-Service account after admission. Self-Service will allow for class registration, grade checks and record verifications. Staff and faculty are given Self-Service accounts when Human Resources (HR) creates their employee record. Instructional faculty received additional Self-Service access depending upon their role and responsibilities to students (i.e. Instructor, Advisor).

 

Access to Banner Self-Service:

  • Access the Samford University homepage and click on your respective role (i.e. Employee, Students) to bring up portal entry page.
  • Access the portal using your Samford User Name and Password.
  • Click on the Banner tab.
  • The Main Menu will be then be displayed. All students and employees of Samford will have the Personal Information section. The other sections are dependent upon your role and responsibilities at Samford.

Internet Native Banner (PROD)

Certain staff and faculty use INB to manage financial, student and human resource information. Access to INB (PROD) is restricted and allowed only to those individuals with key roles and responsibilities (i.e. Student Records). To justify access, users must demonstrate a legitimate need to for access to confidential department data. Access to INB is achieved via the Samford University Banner Project website.

Banner Self-Service products are compatible with the following screen readers and voice recognition devices:
