Ivy joined Samford University in June 2006 and currently serves as secretary to the Departments of Economics, Finance and Quantitative Analysis and Accounting and Management Information Systems. Through her role in the School of Business, she provides support to full-time and adjunct faculty, including functions involving student organizations and faculty development.

Ivy is a graduate of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, where she earned a Master’s degree in Social Work, and Judson College, where she earned the Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and the Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion. She is currently considering post-graduate studies.

Prior to coming to Samford, she held a variety of positions primarily in non-profit and faith-based organizations. She briefly taught undergraduate social work and sociology courses at her alma mater Judson College, where she was Instructor of Behavioral Science. In addition, she has been a community workshop facilitator, family resource center director, family life education director, and media center director for several churches. She has also assisted pastors, consultants, speakers, and college deans, registrars, and department heads in a variety of disciplines.

Ivy has a long history both professionally and avocationally in the publishing field. In addition to being a freelance desktop publisher and editor, which she continues to enjoy, she was an assistant editor with several organizations including: LifeWay Christian Resources and Boone, Inc. Most recently, she compiled and edited several books in the health resource series by Omnigraphics, Inc. Ivy is a published author with articles and reviews appearing in the Journal of Family Ministry, Christian Single magazine, the American Baptist newspaper, the Marion Times-Standard newspaper, and Antiques Monthly.

Ivy feels blessed to be in a position of service in order to free up those whom she serves to be all they are called to be.
