Doshia Bennett joined Samford University in April, 2005 as Secretary to the Director of Davis Library and  in  August 2006, she joined the School of Business where she serves as Secretary/Receptionist to Dean and Professor of Economics, Dr. Beck A. Taylor.  Her role in the Brock School of Business also includes scheduling of the Dean’s office.

Before coming to Samford, Doshia enjoyed a successful 14 years of service with Donald, Tucker & Betts, CPA in Louisiana.  She worked primarily for Bruce Betts, Tax Partner in the firm.  She assisted with the preparation of tax returns, financial statements, IRS audits and litigation for upcoming trials where Bruce served as an expert witness.  Other responsibilities included billing and collection for the firm.  She established a successful program for collecting past due accounts that had been written off as bad debts.

Doshia and her husband, Scotty, have one daughter, Ashley (Brian), a graduate of Mississippi College.  They have one grandson, Sam.

Scotty and Doshia live in Helena. Doshia considers it an honor and blessing to be a part of a school that is on the move.  It is truly a blessing to work with a wonderful leader who energizes our entire staff.  Dean Taylor leads by example and challenges each of us to reach and stretch ourselves to the next level.  The energy displayed by Dean Taylor is contagious not only to the staff, but faculty and students in the School of Business.
