Over the past 20 years, Hope has assisted company presidents and associate provosts, and now serves as the executive assistant to Dean and Professor of Economics, Dr. Beck A. Taylor. Her role in the Brock School of Business includes serving as chief of staff, chair of the Staff Development Committee, and assisting with the management of the dean's activities and projects.

Prior to coming to Samford in 2000, Hope served as the business development officer for a Sloss Federal Credit in the Birmingham area where her duties included advertising and communications to existing and potential members and member groups. With her energy, initiative, and drive, she successfully added thousands to the field of membership of Sloss Federal Credit Union.

Hope credits Dr. John Harris, former Associate Provost of Quality Assessment at Samford, with bringing her into the Samford community. Hope's work with Dr. Harris included managing his office budgets, including a million dollar grant from the Pew Charitable Trusts. She also served as his office manager and assisted with editing his publications.

Upon Dr. Harris' retirement, Hope served as administrative assistant to Associate Provost Dr. Mark Bateman. Her work with Dr. Bateman included managing the office and assisting dean search committees and management of information on the university's adjunct faculty. Dr. Bateman's office was also instrumental in the SACS reaccreditation process.

Hope and her husband, Wallace, have two sons - Josh, a 2005 graduate of the Brock School of Business, and Jared, a junior business major at Samford. Hope and Wallace live in Gardendale.
