Gretchen advises pre-business students at the Brock School of Business.  She works with mostly freshmen and sophomores to help manage their academic progress and provides guidance with their transitions from high school to college life.

After earning her Bachelor of Science in Business at Miami University in Decision Sciences and Marketing, Gretchen pursued a career in marketing research at Burke, Inc. and then later at Heinz, North America.  While working at a premier consulting firm and Fortune 500 company proved to be incredibly valuable, she realized her professional and personal ambitions were more in line with working in a university setting.

As such, she began the Master of Education program in Higher Education Management at the University of Pittsburgh and also embraced a role as an academic advisor and instructor at Pitt’s College of Business Administration.  After pursuing her own undergraduate experience, she has carried a strong appreciation and enthusiasm for higher education, and cannot imagine a career path more rewarding.

Now at the Brock School of Business, Gretchen feels fortunate to have the opportunity to continue to help students develop, explore and express themselves as individuals and members of a community during their years at Samford and beyond.
