Samford University’s Brock School of Business is a recognized leader and school of choice among institutions offering undergraduate and graduate business education informed by Christian principles.

The Samford Business Network

Samford Business Network chapters are located in Birmingham, Alabama, Atlanta, Georgia, and Nashville, Tennessee. Samford University alumni, Brock School of Business alumni and other business professionals get together once each quarter to network and to hear a guest speaker. This venue is quickly becoming one of the Southeast’s highest quality networking opportunities.

The Brock School of Business History and Accreditation

The Brock School of Business was established in 1965 with William D. Geer as its first dean. The first MBA was awarded in 1967, and Samford has the oldest evening MBA program in the state of Alabama. In 1995, the M.Acc. degree was approved. The school is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International), a designation enjoyed by less than 10% of business schools worldwide, and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

The Brock School of Business Masters Programs have ranked 17 consecutive years in the top 10 master's level universities in the South.

The Brock School of Business Has Introduced Three New Undergraduate Degree Programs for 2007-08:

Programs in Entrepreneurship and Social Entrepreneurship

Brock School of Business students now have the option of choosing concentrations in entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship. Students choosing to study entrepreneurship will learn how to conceptualize and bring to market new products and service offerings. Social entrepreneurship, or non-profit management, will empower students who seek to lead non-profit or socially-conscious for-profit organizations. Samford’s program in social entrepreneurship is the first of its kind in the state of Alabama.

Program in International Business

Students in any major in the Brock School of Business are now able to add an intensive program of courses and experiences that will lead to a concentration in international business. Two years of foreign language study and extensive international experiences are required for students seeking the international business concentration, along with selected courses in international business.

The Brock School of Business Evening MBA

The Brock School of Business’ first MBA students graduated 40 years ago. Samford has the only privately funded AACSB MBA program in the state. The MBA program is targeted towards the business professional with learning that is focused on real-world business applications.   • The Brock School of Business Offers Scholarships

    A number of scholarships are available to incoming business juniors and seniors. Entering freshmen can apply for any University-wide scholarships or financial aid for which they are eligible. Scholarships are also available for graduate programs.

    The Brock School of Business Offers International Study Opportunities

    Study abroad programs include England, Morocco, Spain, Brazil, Costa Rica, Hong Kong, China, Jordan and South Africa. More than three-fourths of the Brock School of Business faculty have taught courses in other countries or participated in a significant international experience.

    The Brock School of Business Internship Program

    This experiential education program is designed to provide a business management or accounting student with the opportunity to gain practical experience in a professional work environment. Elective credit is offered in a curriculum-related based work program. More than 85 percent of undergraduate business students complete internships before graduating.

    The Brock School of Business Mentoring Program

    The mentoring program at the Brock School of Business provides an excellent opportunity for students to connect with professionals specializing in areas of their career interests. Through this relationship, students gain exposure to an inside view of how various companies operate, understand how professionals balance life and work responsibilities, and learn valuable perspectives on the business world.
