Samford researcher examines work and family conflict

Work and family conflict continue to highlight the research agenda of Samford Business Assistant Professor of Management, Dr. Charles M. (Chad) Carson. Carson, whose most recent publication on the topic can be found in the upcoming issue of the International Journal of Conflict Management, has worked extensively on ways that organizations and managers can assess and identify when work and family commitments produce conflict for employees.

This most recent publication, which was a collaborative effort with researchers from the University of South Alabama, Saint Louis University, and Mississippi State University, examines the most effective ways to assess work family conflict and family work conflict. Additionally, their findings revealed that both of these types of conflict predicted an employee's intentions to quit their current occupation.
