Samford Debate Appears in The Birmingham News

HONORS
Jayme Cloninger and Josh Smith, of Samford University's junior varsity debate team, were crowned tournament champions in their division during the regional tournament at Vanderbilt University last month. Smith also was recognized individually as the 7th-place speaker in a competitive junior-varsity division.
Samford's two varsity teams - Erin Ramsey and Logan Gramzinski, and Nick Agnello and Chad Macumber - also made a good showing, advancing through the preliminaries and into the Sweet 16. Sophomore debater Logan Gramzinski was recognized as the fifth-best speaker in the varsity division.
On Samford's novice debate team, Ruth Woodall won the 7th-place speaker award in the division.
Samford now is ranked 26th in the nation by the Cross Examination Debate Association.
