Elementary Education (Christian Education and Missions)

The Elementary Education degree with a concentration in Christian Education and Missions is designed for students seeking certification to teach first through sixth grade in alternative educational settings. Candidates will explore issues and trends in Christian education as well as foundations of educational missions.

Students will begin with foundational courses that explore topics related to educational issues as well as child development. Beginning junior year, students will begin to practice critical pedagogical skills within the context of our embedded public school partnership setting. Prior to student teaching, students will learn how to create a needs based curriculum and implement it in either a local or global mission setting. This program will also offer a variety of clinical placements which will be in global or local mission settings incorporating practical aspects.
