A group of educators from around the state gathered for two days in September to collaborate and discuss educational technology. Dr. Michele Haralson, director of the Curriculum Materials and Technology Center and assistant professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, was selected out of 25 educators to attend the Alabama State Resource Development Summit held at the Jefferson County Board of Education in Birmingham, Sept. 24-25. Haralson said one goal of the summit included each member developing more than 50 online resources for Alabama teachers and aligning them to state standards.

Haralson noted part of the application required her to explain her experiences using technology, how the experience would impact her own students’ learning and what resources she could bring to the summit. So far, half of the online resources she submitted have been accepted and sent to state reviewers who judge the quality of the resources. Once they pass the review, they will be posted on the Alabama Learning Exchange website.
