This Committee shall have responsibility for:
1. Recommend and review plans, policies and procedures for the effective integration of various learning resources into the academic programs of the university. Although not limited to these, the following areas are of particular importance.
a. Libraries and Related Resources. In cooperation with the academic units of the university, the committee should assist library faculty as they establish priorities for collection development. This includes acquisition of materials as well as securing access to materials through resource sharing agreements with other institutions or via electronic means. The committee should assist the libraries in reviewing operating policies and should aid in coordinating activities between libraries.
b. Computing and Related Technologies. As computing and related technologies become increasingly important learning tools, the committee should recommend and review plans to implement appropriate technology resources to meet the curricular needs of the university's academic programs. The committee should assist those responsible for various technology resources as they establish priorities and operating policies.
c. Classroom Support. The committee should make and review recommendations concerning necessary resources for the effective use of classrooms as learning environments. Such resources include presentation equipment (overhead projectors, computer projectors, multimedia systems, etc.) and other specialized items.
2. Assume a leadership role in disseminating information about various learning resources and actively promote their use. This may include recommendations for development activities that will assist faculty with the integration of learning resources into the curriculum.
