Biographical Information

As part of her interest in journalism, Emily served as the Editor in Chief of her high school's newspaper, The Charger, and helped in its transformation from a print to an online newspaper. Emily was a part of the Student Council for the entirety of her high school career, serving as Vice-President her junior year, and President her senior year. In addition to leading the school on Student Council, Emily was also a member of the National Honor Society, focusing her volunteer efforts at Bethany Christian Services, a Christian adoption agency. After attending the National Youth Leadership Forum on National Security, Emily's goal is to focus her Journalism/Mass Communication training here at Samford to become a security correspondent in Washington D.C. To that end, she has secured a position at the Alabama Press Association during her time as a student at Samford.
