1841 Mission
In 1841, the Samford endowment began with modest gifts from committed founders. They saw a great vision for our institution. One hundred sixty seven years later, Samford University has grown to offer a quality Christian education with tuition costs 30% lower than the national average for private schools. Now, our eight schools demonstrate a need to build substantial endowments and it is our responsibility to see a vision of fulfillment for each of them. Your gift of $18.41 or more will be matched dollar for dollar to begin or enhance a general endowment within the school of your choice.
Matching gift contributor Harry B. Brock, Jr. continues to use the “rising tide lifts all boats” statement as the premise for this campaign. As Mr. Brock has generously committed to seeing a $100,000,000 endowment for the Brock School of Business, he is also passionate with a vision to build endowments within each of the schools. Mr. Brock challenges all students and employees of the university to make a gift of $18.41 or more towards the mission of Samford and a general endowment within the school of their choice.
