Abnormal Formal

Did you know that 31% of your Samford experience is made possible through donations from Samford alumni and friends? On February 28th Samford celebrates Philanthropy Difference Day, the theoretical day we make the shift from operating on tuition dollars to donor dollars.

Come celebrate Philanthropy Difference Day, and the generosity of our donors, at the first-ever Abnormal Formal, presented by The Philanthropy Awareness Council. In addition to everything you would expect to find at a normal formal, such as great music, delicious food and lots of dancing, the Abnormal Formal also features a huge inflatable obstacle course, photo booth, cotton candy, and karaoke!

In keeping with the Abnormal theme, there is no set admission price. Instead, please make a donation in the amount of your choice to the Student Emergency Assistance Fund.

Each $1 you donate will provide you 1 ticket you can redeem for specialty items at the event. In exchange for one ticket you may choose: 1 cotton candy, 1 popcorn, 1 funnel cake, OR 1 turn in the photo booth. Keep in mind that the more you donate, the more tickets you will receive to redeem at the event. After your initial online donation, additional tickets may be purchased at the Abnormal Formal.

All proceeds from the Abnormal Formal will benefit the Student Emergency Assistance Fund, which provides assistance to students in our Samford family who need additional help with meeting some of their basic needs.
