Samford Charity Campaign
Samford Charity is the annual, university-wide voluntary giving campaign for faculty and staff to contribute/pledge to Samford University (restricted/unrestricted), United Way of Central Alabama, Samford University Habitat for Humanity House and the Employee Emergency Assistance Fund. Faculty and staff may designate to the above sources in the amounts desired.
Gifts to Samford help meet the university’s mission to offer quality education in a supportive environment with basic Christian values. These unrestricted funds help to meet critical needs, such as scholarships, laboratory and library resources, and faculty. It sustains the university’s vital operating and education programs at their most basic level. Through Samford Charity, you also may make a gift restricted to a specific school, department or program.

Your gift, combined with others, addresses a variety of needs in more than 80 health and human service organizations in the five-county area that continually affect thousands of lives, including:
- increasing self-sufficiency
- helping children succeed
- improving people’s health
- strengthening and supporting individuals and families
- helping in times of emergency and disaster

Your gift will help Samford University, in partnership with Greater Birmingham Habitat for Humanity, build a house for a local family. Greater Birmingham Habitat for Humanity is an ecumenical, grassroots, nonprofit Christian housing ministry committed to providing decent, affordable houses in partnership with God’s people in need. Samford faculty, staff and students will provide the money and labor for the Samford-built house.

Your gift will be used to assist Samford employees (full-time and part-time) who have experienced emergencies that require them to seek financial aid. An emergency must result from an event beyond the employee’s control, such as fire, acts of nature, theft of property, illness or death in immediate family, and loss of employment.
