Current and Ongoing Needs

Community Pharmacy Initiative

MSOP through the department of pharmacy practice has placed a renewed emphasis on identifying, implementing and validating patient care models in community pharmacy practice.  This initiative represents a signficant commitment on the part of the school in resources towards partnering with community pharmacies to build and strengthen viable business models for MTM and other patient care services.  Hiring faculty in community practice, establishing accredited community pharmacy residency programs, and assisting community pharmacies in taking advantage of existing and emerging opportunities in patient care are cornerstones of this initiative.  Your support will help MSOP help community pharmacy practice.

Endowed Scholarships

Income from endowment funds is Samford’s foundation for the future. One hundred percent of endowment gifts are held in a permanent fund with the goal of providing a steady stream of reliable basic revenue for University operations. Samford holds nearly $215 million invested in stocks, bonds, real estate and other holdings. These funds are invested under policies and procedures developed and supervised by the Investment Committee of the Board of Trustees. With initial gifts made in the 1870s, the University endowments sustain Samford across generations. Endowment gifts provide a means of investing far beyond a lifetime in Samford’s mission of Christian higher education.

Endowment funds may be established and typically paid out across a span of five years. When the named fund reaches the stated amount, it will be eligible for awarding.
