Alabama SealAlabama Governor's School 2008
The Alabama Governor's School is a summer residential enrichment program for academically talented upcoming high school seniors.The students are exposed to a taste of the college life by participating in morning and afternoon seminars of their choice for the duration of their time at the AGS. AGS is not only focused around higher learning but also around providing a fun, yet educational environment. Students use opportunities like nightly recreational team-based activities such as dodge ball, scavenger hunts, and The Governor’s School Olympics to have fun, learn to work as a team, and also help each other progress into becoming the young men and women of tomorrow. AGS also helps out in the community by participating in service projects at locations such as the Birmingham Zoo. One of the main overall goals of AGS is to develop networks of motivated young people, and with the continuation of this program these young people will become the future the great state of Alabama.
