Dear Partner in Christ: Thank you for your inquiry regarding the possibility of a Samford University student being interviewed for a position at your church. Upon completion of the employment form on the Career Development Center's web site (link is below), the Center will post information about your church opening on the Web. For part-time jobs, the positions will be listed on the Career Development web site. Furthermore, the posted information will be channeled to representatives in the Department of University Ministries, Beeson School of Divinity and, the School of Performing Arts . If appropriate, one or all of these offices might publicize the opening in some form as well. Hard copies of your part-time job postings will be placed on the Career Center 's bulletin board and in the Center's job books. Full-time positions will be listed in job books in the Center. Please clink on the following link and fill out the Employment Listing Request Form. It is important to us that you understand that fielding a divinity school or undergraduate student depends upon a student's response to these postings. We are more than pleased to encourage students to consider your opening; at the same time, however, whether you receive responses depends upon students' initiatives. Should you receive a response from any student, we would strongly advise that you call one of the contact persons below, depending upon the type of student who has responded:
Approximately two months after the initial posting, the Career Development Center will contact you to see if your position has been filled and, if not, if you would wish for the posted opening to remain active. If you should fill the position, please contact the Center so that they can inactivate your job posting: 205-726-2980 or career@samford.edu Whether you find a minister through our posting or through another resource, our hope and prayer is that God will bless the ministry of the person who comes your way. If University Ministries can ever assist you through any of our other ministries – Student Ministries Choir, Word Players drama team, Praise bands, Disciple-Now events, student missionary speakers, supply preachers, etc. - please contact us at 205-726-2825 or 205-726-2927. Again, we thank you for your interest and for your commitment to serving God's kingdom. Blessings as you continue to serve His cause. Sincerely, Dr. Matthew S. Kerlin
