Step Sing - Chi Omega Style

Almost anyone at Samford would agree that Step Sing is the most creative, competitive, and congregating times of the year. In the fall, Chi Omega members nominate a committee to generate an entire work from the conception of our idea to the final performance. Chi Omega continues to produce ³Sweepstakes²-winning shows, and it is always a challenge to find that one perfectly unique idea that brings together the choreography, costumes, and songs needed to bring home the trophy.
This past year, Chi Omega created a theme that show cased our personality:cute, unique, creative, and fun. Our idea, created by our coustume director, was Chi-O Inferno, basing our show around firemen. We had a blast singing different songs from "burn Baby Burn", to N'Sync's "You Are My Fire". The highlight for me, however, was having real firman on stage with us during "It's Raining Men"! Or was it the Michael Jackson moonwalking across the stage during "Beat It"?! With a jam-packed show, it was hard to pick a favorite part. And you can't have a fun show without fun costumes including fireman hats and red sequined suspenders. THe final product was presented on stage for a packed house in the Wright Center.
Whether or not we win the ³Sweepstakes² trophy, the month of Step Sing gives our new members the opportunity to get to know our upperclassmen. We are able to show off our talents (or lack thereof) and just have fun! And we were so excited and honored to receive Audience Choice for Chi-O Inferno 2006
