![]() ![]() On September 28, 1963, the 134th chapter of Chi Omega was installed at Samford University. Chi Omega was the fifth sorority founded on the campus. Installation took place at the Parish House of St. Luke's Episcopol Church of Mountain Brook. Conducting the ceremony were Miss Elizabeth Dyer, National President, Winnie Bowker, Miss Elizabeth Carmichael, Mrs. Kenneth Nellums, and Mrs. Jack Williams.
In 1990, Chi Omega was chosen by Samford University to be one of the first three sororities to receive a house on Samford's West Campus. The three sororities were chosen based on chapter size and GPA. Prior to the building of the house, all six sororities had a hall on which they lived. The Chi Omegas lived on the bottom floor of Vail, which is now the freshmen girls dorm.
On Saturday, September 26, 2003 the Zeta Zeta chapter of Chi Omega will celebrate its 40th anniversary. We have seen so many wonderful years and look forward to all that the future has to offer us! For more information on the history of Chi Omega, visit the national website at: www.chiomega.org |
