Potential recruits
must
turn in a completed Recruitment Application by 4 p.m.,
Wednesday, September 14, 2005, to
the Office of Student Involvement.
Summer Recruitment Rules
These rules apply from Wednesday
May 18, 2005 through Monday August 29, 2005
1.
Absolutely no alcohol at any recruitment event
2.
All Samford University Student Standards of Conduct apply as described in the
University Handbook.
3.
A summer recruitment party is an organizational event therefore all Samford University
Standards of Conduct for University Organizations apply.
4. Bids or verbal commitments from fraternities are prohibited before Bid
Day 2005.
5.
NO fraternity should be discussed in any manner
whatsoever.
Recruitment
Rules
These rules apply from Monday, August 29, 2005, through
Monday, September 25, 2005.
1.
During Connections events, recruiting is not allowed, and Connections leaders may not
wear fraternity clothing.
2. Fraternity members, other than Connection leaders, may not help
potential recruits move in at
the beginning of school.
3.
No weekend trips or overnight trips are allowed.
4.
No fraternity members may drink alcohol with potential
recruits.
5.
No fraternity should be discussed in any manner whatsoever.
6.
Bids or verbal commitments from fraternities are prohibited before Bid Day,
September 26, 2005.
Recruitment Period Rules
These
rules apply from 12 p.m. Sunday August
29, 2005,
through Saturday, September
19, 2005.
1. Potential recruits are allowed to attend fraternity events on campus and in non-residential
areas off campus
2.
No fraternity money or fraternity members money may be spent on
potential recruits.
3.
Fraternity members may visit
potential recruits in
their residence halls, but they must leave at a potential
recruit's or staff members request. Fraternity members may also communicate with
potential recruits through phone calls, or
e-mail
Formal
Recruitment Rules
These rules
apply from Friday, September 23, 2005, though Bid
Day Monday, September
26,
2005.
1.
There will be shifts of no more than 10 recruitment hostesses in a fraternity house at one
time.
2.
There will be no visitation with potential recruits outside established Formal
Recruitment times.
3.
There will be no communication of any kind with potential
recruits outside of
formal
recruitment times.
Any violation of these rules may result in a
potential
recruit not being able to join
a fraternity, or in fraternities being fined and referred to the Judicial Board of the
Samford University IFC.
