Around the Wars: A Survey of British Culture from 1905 to 1965).
The course will study literary, visual, musical, theatrical and
other related arts in the contect of pre-WWI political and historic
events, following a timeline from the death of Victoria, through
the Great War, between the wars, through WWII, the crowning of Elizabeth
II, and end with the trends of the 1960s (including the Beatles,
the development of "Pop Art," the decay of British colonialism,
effects of the Suez Canal crises, and numerous other threads). Credits
