LOND 360.01x – British Heritage and Culture (4 credits): Team taught by British lecturers and Samford
Professor-in-Residence. An interdisciplinary study of British life from the perspectives of history, architecture,
literature, economics, political science, religion, art and sociology. This course will satisfy the social science or
humanities requirement in general education.

colorful diversity of the London setting as a backdrop which contextualizes the course material. The beauty of
the London experience is that diversity is explored from the safety of a known language, yet the experience is
sufficiently different from the U.S. that it leaves students refreshed and filled with new insights.
MUSC 304 or MUSC 466 - Dr. Moya Nordlund: Music, Culture and Society, (4 credits). This course
considers music from within and outside the European-American classical tradition, with special attention to how
culture shapes music, and music, culture. This course also fulfills the music appreciation requirement MUSC
200.
