Spend Summer Term in London

Summer Term in London is four weeks, corresponding with the first session of summer school. Students may register for one interdisciplinary 4-credit course. Students may select an option for extended travel time following completion of the official program.

Eligibility: Students must be currently enrolled as full time students at Samford University (minimum of 12 credits during the semester preceding participation), have a minimum 2.0 GPA, and must not be on academic or disciplinary probation. Students must have met all prerequisites or requirements for London classes in which they enroll.

Students must maintain these standards prior to departure and throughout the term in London, and they must abide by participation and housing rules. Failure to do so will result in dismissal from the program and a return home at the expense of the student.

Courses: Although course selection is limited, the courses offered are interdisciplinary and offer two to three options for credit (e.g., History or Political Science or Geography credit). Classes will meet in extended sessions five days per week and will incorporate on-site activities that take advantage of the London setting. Some evening activities will be required. Classes are announced in the spring semester. Internships and independent studies are not offered.

Cost and Activities Included: The Program Fee covers round-trip airfare from Atlanta, accommodations at Daniel House, continental breakfast and weekly meal allowance, designated class activities, tickets to two theatre productions, and two group day trips. Tuition is billed separately on a per- credit basis. The current Program Fee is available from London Programs Office or on this site. The following expenses are not covered by the Program Fee: tuition, Greater London transportation, spending money, personal travel and sightseeing. Some required class activities may entail modest admission costs.
