Sigma Chi Rush
Rush week is an important time of year for the Pi chapter, and our brothers put hours upon hours of work and preparation into preparing a great experience for potential brothers. This website's purpose is to be an informative and useful tool for prospective rushers, allowing you all to know the schedule of upcoming events and activities, as well as to prepare you for the Rushing experience. Though much of our plans for Rush and Pre-Rush have not come together yet, we'd like for you to continue checking back here on a regular basis - activities will be posted as soon as they're organized.

From the Rush Chairman...
Men of the Pi Chapter of Sigma Chi consider it the premier leadership development and personal growth organization on Samford’s campus. Since its return to the University in 1984, Sigma Chi has won 17 of 24 all-sports trophies among campus fraternities, volunteered hundreds of hours locally at the Exceptional and Lakeshore foundations, and staked its claim as one of the most respected organizations campus-wide. Through the ever-popular Derby Days week, Sigma Chi has been able to consistently raise $10,000 annually for its national philanthropy, The Children’s Miracle Network.
Members pride themselves as leaders on campus. Brothers currently hold positions as IFC President, Orientation leaders, varsity athletes, class officers, SGA senators, Connections leaders, Student Recruitment Team members, LEAD Scholars, Samford Ambassadors, and many more.
Our Brothers graduate from Samford to become doctors, lawyers, dentists, pharmacists, journalists and businessmen at the top levels of these professions. Sigma Chi offers an unparalleled nationwide network of some of the world’s most successful people, including Brad Pitt, David Letterman, and Mike Ditka.
The recent 2007 Greek Awards ceremony reiterated the successes of the Pi Chapter in the past year. The brothers of Sigma Chi were awarded distinctions for having the highest new member GPA, the highest overall GPA, Brothers GPA above all men's average, Outsanding Alumni Letter, and new member GPA above the all men's average. The brothers of Sigma Chi also merited the rare distinction of the Chapter Excellency Award, for outstanding effort in all areas of chapter involvement. This is the second conescutive year that our Chapter has brought home this huge honor. Sigma Chi also brought won the the All-Sports trophy, for most wins in Fraternity intramural sports.
The brothers of Sigma Chi strive to live out the high standards, set forth by the founders, that we have come to know as Sigma Chi tradition. This integrity found within each member of our brotherhood equips each man individually to fulfill his role as a leader, whether for the Pi chapter or for Samford University. New members are able to learn from the current leaders of Samford’s campus as they discover their own roles here as leaders, who promote change.
Please take some time to look around our website and learn more about the Pi Chapter. As a brotherhood we are excited to announce summer rush events in Alabama, Tennessee, and Atlanta. We invite prospective rushees to look at our schedule which will include concerts, baseball games, and even some time at the lake.
Sincerely,
Matthew Reed
Rush Chairman 2008
