Dear Parents,

If you were not involved in Greek life on your campus, or even if you were, you might have gotten a bad impression of fraternities in general. Let me assure you that we are in no way your average “frat”. Our cardinal principles are those of Virtue, Diligence, and Brotherly Love and we hold these in the highest esteem. Our founding fathers were men of the highest character and caliber, a number of whom were seminary students.

While we do have a very active social calendar, on Samford’s campus and around the nation our brotherhood also strives to excel scholastically. This is reinforced by the fact that nationally we have the highest GPA of any social fraternity, and locally by the fact that we have the highest new member GPA on campus.

Our philosophy of the Balanced Man is another distinction in the Greek world. Our brotherhood seeks to develop men which are healthy in both mind and body, multi-faceted, have a holistic outlook on life and are veritable “Renaissance men”. Through the Balanced man program your son is a brother the moment he signs a bid, not a “pledge”. Our program has 3 phases and works to develop your son throughout all four years of college, not just the first four months.

Another distinct advantage which our fraternity possesses is the immense network of alumni and undergraduates. We currently have 14,000 undergraduate brothers and over 255,000 alumni, giving us the status of the largest fraternity in the nation. The networking possibilities are seemingly endless; especially when you consider that we have at least one chapter in all 50 states.
