Convocation Information

While Student Records monitors convocation credits for graduation purposes, the credits themselves are collected and awarded by the Samford University Ministries Office. If you have questions about uncredited convos, please contact that office:

The University Ministries Office recommends that you use the Convocation Record Adjustment Form to address convo problems and/or request adjustments. Please print the form and take it to a member of the University Ministries staff.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Failure to meet the convocation credit requirement can prevent a student from graduating on time. Students should be mindful of their convocation status throughout their college studies here at Samford.

FALL 2007 UPDATE:
Beginning late October 2007, students will receive a weekly e-mail from University Ministries--with a PDF attachment--noting the total number of convocations required (now 60 for all full-time day students*), the number they've completed through that date** (including which convocation category the credits fall under), and the number remaining to complete.

*Metro Program & graduate/professional students are not required to complete convocation credits.

*For part-time and transfer students who entered Samford prior to Fall 2007, the total number of required convo credits may be different due to the proration policy at that time.

**Convocation data collected manually (attendance lists, record adjustment forms, etc.) may take a few days to appear on your record.
