Our printed and online publications represent Samford University. It's important that we present our programs and services in a unified manner. Much of this manual is drawn from The Chicago Manual of Style (CMS) and The Associated Press Stylebook (AP). AP is a good source for spellings of proper names and technical or media-related terminology, as is Merriam Webster's Collegiate Dictionary. We will update this manual often to reflect current usage and changes on this campus.

A consistent written style is an important part of the University's image. But please remember that your writing is your own, even when edited according to the principles outlined in this manual.
