Pete Hanna Center A to Z
No alcoholic beverages are permitted at the Pete Hanna Center. Report any possession of alcoholic beverages or unsafe behavior to PHC management.
Animals are not allowed in the Pete Hanna Center. Exemptions include guide, sign and signal dogs to assist patrons with disabilities.
The main offices for Samford athletics are found on the ground floor of the Pete Hanna Center.
Banners and Signs
Banners and signs may not be displayed if they disrupt the view of others are or deemed to be inappropriate by PHC management. Signs may not be attached to railings or walls. Poles to display banners or flags are prohibited.
Restrictions on the use of cameras vary by event. Guests should contact the Pete Hanna Center prior to an event to find out the policy.
If you have had an unpleasant experience at an event at Pete Hanna Center, please tell us. PHC Management attempts to provide the best experience for all patrons.
There are permanent concession stands located in both lobbies, with the number of stands open varied by event.
Diaper Changing Stations
Diaper Changing Stations are located in all men’s and women’s restrooms on the concourse level.
Disabled Parking is located in the west Pete Hanna Center parking lot, both in the top and middle lots.
Doors to the Pete Hanna Center normally open 1 hour prior to Event Time.
Elevators are located on both sides of the building, adjacent to the concourse level entrances on either side.
In the event of an emergency, please contact the nearest Pete Hanna Center or Samford staffer in order to receive assistance.
The Pete Hanna Center and Samford University are committed to providing a pleasant experience for all guests. In order to ensure this, the following conduct rules have been established:
- Guests wearing obscene clothing are not allowed.
- Guests using foul or abusive language or gestures will be ejected.
- Guests appearing intoxicated will be ejected and/or denied entry to the facility.
- Guests interfering with the event or going onto the Arena floor will be ejected.
The Fitness Center of the Pete Hanna Center is located on the Plaza (3rd) level on the West side. It is open to Samford University students, faculty and staff. For more information on fitness center hours and policies, please contact Samford Campus Recreation at 726-2194.
Hanna Center Administration
Offices for the Hanna Center administration are located on the Plaza Level, East side of the facility, directly behind the Ticket Office.
Located on the Plaza (3rd) level of the Hanna Center, the Hospitality Suite overlooks the arena and is a fitting spot for receptions, banquets, small meetings and other gatherings.
All Incidents during events should be reported to the Pete Hanna Center management so that an incident report can be filled out.
Lost and Found
On event days, lost and found will be located at the Ticket Office. Following events, items will be turned over to the Samford University Campus Safety.
In the event of a lost child, a public address announcement will be made, and a Pete Hanna Center staffer will escort the child to the Ticket Office to be reunited with parents.
The following items are not permitted in the Pete Hanna Center:

Weapons and Dangerous Devices of Any Type
The Seminar Room of the Pete Hanna Center is located on the first floor, adjacent to the athletics offices.
Smoking is not allowed inside the Pete Hanna Center.
No loitering, trespassing, soliciting or resale of tickets is allowed on Pete Hanna Center property. Any exception to this policy must be approved in advance by PHC management and Samford University.
Found on the concourse (2nd) level, this area behind the bleachers on the south side of the Arena is a prime location for banquets, career fairs and large meetings. Overlooking Joe Lee Griffin Field, there is room for approximately 200 to dine comfortably, and the space can be used with many different user-desired setups.
Samford University, the Southern Conference and the NCAA are committed to promoting good sportsmanship by student-athletes, coaches, administrators and spectators. The Pete Hanna Center requests your cooperation by supporting participants and officials in a positive manner. Profanity, racist or sexist comments will not be tolerated and are grounds for removal.
Thomas and Marla Corts Arena
The Corts Arena is the home for Commencement, Samford basketball and volleyball, as well as accommodating numerous other major events. Seating 5,000 spectators (2800 lower/2200 upper), the Corts Arena is the centerpiece of the Pete Hanna Center.
The Ticket Office is located on the East side of the building on the Plaza (top) level. The box office normally opens 90 minutes prior to game time. Tickets may be purchased with cash, check, Discover, Mastercard or Visa.
