- Duties:
The primary responsibility of this position is to assist the Director & Assistant Dean in the planning & implementation of the Admissions program & process and has the responsibility for the operation of the Admissions program in the absence of the Assistant Dean & Director.
The overall duties are:
- Travel extensively during fall recruiting season as well as other times during the year as deemed necessary by the Director or Assistant Dean for Admissions to recruit potential candidates for Cumberland Law School by attending undergraduate school fairs and career days, law forums & initiating individual visits to various schools.
- Establish & maintain contacts with undergraduate pre-law advisors.
- Serve as primary counselor for law school applicants & prospective candidates to the law school.
- Serve as financial aid contact for students & law school liaison with financial aid office.
- Maintain records on scholarship awards.
- Coordinate scholarship interviews.
- Assist the Director & Assistant Dean with development of admissions brochures, website content & other marketing publications.
- Contribute to the planning & implementation of all law school recruitment activities & orientation, including the majority of electronic communication with prospective applicants & admitted students.
- Represent the admissions office with the Director & Assistant Dean at various law school functions.
- Provide support to the Director and Assistant Dean for Admissions and the Admissions Committee in whatever capacity deemed necessary.
- Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree.
- A minimum of two to five years work experience in law related or a recruitment position.
- Previous knowledge of mainframe and personal computers, relevant application programs and various office equipment.
- Strong interpersonal & communication abilities.
- Competent to perform public speaking.
- Good organizational skills & dedication to customer service.
- Must be able to travel extensively during recruitment season.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- J.D.
- A minimum of one year's experience in event planning, marketing or communications
