Life Insurance

  • What do you receive? Death benefit equal to 2.5 times annual salary. Reduces at age 65. $2,000 benefit on spouse and dependent children.

Long Term Disability Insurance

Business Travel

Met Pay
  • Who pays? Employee
  • Who is Eligible? Full-time employees
  • Eligibility Begins: Upon Enrollment with Met P&C

Long Term Care
  • Who pays? Employee
  • Who is Eligible? All employees

  • What do you receive? Services/assistance essential when individuals are no longer able to care for themselves due to an accident, illness or effects of aging.
Pension
  • Who pays? Samford
  • Who is Eligible? All employees who work a min. of 1,000hrs. per calendar year
  • Eligibility Begins: After one participating year and 21 years of age
  • What do you receive? Financial assistance at retirement. Pension is vested after five participating years of service.
Tax Deferred Annuities

  • Who is Eligible? Full-time and regular part-time employees

  • What do you receive? Voluntary payroll deduction whereby employees may tax defer a portion of their annual salary through GuideStone Financial Resources, VALIC, TIAA­CREF, Merrill Lynch & Insurance & Investment Consultants, Inc.
Deferred Compensation Plan

  • Who is Eligible? Full-time and regular part-time employees
  • Eligibility Begins: Immediately
  • What do you receive? Voluntary payroll deduction allowing employees to postpone receipt of current income in order to defer federal income taxation until a later date.
Sick Days

    Bi-weekly Staff earns 3.47 hours per pay period.  Monthly Staff earns 1 day per month.  Available after 3 months service.

    Administrative-Faculty employees earn 1 day per month.  Available immediately.

    Faculty - Ten days upon employment, then 1 additional day per month worked.  Available immediately. 

Vacation

  • Eligibility Begins: Varies depending on employment status
  • What do you receive?

    Bi-Weekly Staff employees earn 3.47 hours per pay period.  Monthly Staff employees earn 1 day per month.  Accrual increases at the beginning of the 2nd year of continuous full time employment. Available after 3 months service.

    Administrative-Faculty employees and also Faculty on 12-month contracts receive 24 days at the beginning of each fiscal year.  All vacation must be taken within fiscal year. Available immediately.

Holidays

  • Who is Eligible? Full-time employees
  • Eligibility Begins: Must be employed on the first day of the month in which the holiday occurs.
  • What do you receive? New Year's Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Easter Monday, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day.
Funeral Leave
  • Who pays? Samford
  • Who is Eligible? Full-time employees
  • Eligibility Begins: Immediately
  • What do you receive? Up to three days may be charged to sick leave.
Employee Tuition Benefit
