Goal 3: Cultivate a climate of scholarship and creative activity

  • Objective 3.1 - Provide professional development opportunities for faculty, staff, and students in scholarship
    • Increase opportunities for challenging learning environments for our top students
    • Enhance the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Scholarship to provide support for faculty
    • Enhance the course offerings in research methodologies to undergraduate and graduate students
    • Increase the opportunities for students to engage in research

  • Objective 3.2 - Build infrastructure for grant writing and grant administration
    • Increase resources provided for professional development, travel, and grants to support the work of faculty and staff
    • Create recognition and incentives for meaningful curricular innovation
    • Communicate scholarly activities
    • Create a productive grants office
    • Increase the number of endowed faculty positions

  • Objective 3.3 - Provide resources that support scholarship
    • Offer more training in productivity and learning software
    • Enhance the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Scholarship to provide support for faculty
    • Structure teaching loads that enhance educational experiences, enable contributions to scholarship, and promote service
    • Enhance the instructional technology support provided for faculty and students
    • Provide competitive and appropriate compensation for faculty and staff
    • Increase resources provided for professional development, travel, and grants to support the work of faculty and staff
    • Create recognition and incentives for meaningful curricular innovation
    • Enhance the course offerings in research methodologies to undergraduate and graduate students
    • Increase the opportunities for students to engage in research
