Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK)

Omicron Delta Kappa is the National Leadership Honor Society, which has recognized more than 300,000 individuals from over 300 colleges and university campuses across the U.S. since its inception in 1914.

Samford's Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa is advised by Dr. John Knapp, director of the Mann Center. Dr. Betsy Holloway, professor in the Brock School of Business, serves as faculty secretary, and Cameron Collins, a Brock Scholar, is president.

Membership

Membership in Omicron Delta Kappa is as much an obligation and responsibility in leadership as it is a mark of highest distinction and honor.

Membership is awarded to undergraduate juniors and seniors, graduate students, faculty, staff, administration, and persons qualifying for membership honoris causa.

Undergraduate members of the Samford circle of Omicron Delta Kappa represent the top 3% of leaders on campus. Successful applicants to the Samford circle of Omicron Delta Kappa typically have a 3.75 Grade Point Average and demonstrate leadership in three of the following areas: 1) Scholarship; 2) Athletics; 3) Campus or Community Service, Social Activities, and Campus Government; 4) Journalism, Speech and the Mass Media; 5) Creative and Performing Arts; and 6) Religious Organizations.
