Students in the Brock Scholars program presented two short plays to an audience of their peers, followed by lively discussion of the issues that were identified. The performance was sponsored by the Mann Center through its new Better World Theatre initiative, which allows students to think critically about ethical issues in their field of study by acting out scenarios they are likely to encounter in the professional world (Homewood, AL). Discussions on academic integrity with students and faculty at Samford's McWhorter School of Pharmacy, Howard College of Arts and Sciences, Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing, and Brock School of Business. Dr. John Knapp was on the leadership team of a delegation of scholars who visited Pyongyang University of Science and Technology in North Korea in 2011. Dr. Knapp’s presentation to graduate students and faculty was on “The University as Community of Moral Formation,” emphasizing the obligation of higher education to prepare ethical leaders who are committed to serving the common good of their people and working constructively with other leaders in global society.
