Dr. John Knapp was on the leadership team of a delegation of scholars who visited Pyongyang University of Science and Technology in North Korea in 2011. The group taught short courses, gave special lectures and explored opportunities for institutional collaboration. Dr. Knapp’s presentation to graduate students and faculty was on “The University as Community of Moral Formation,” emphasizing the obligation of higher education to prepare ethical leaders who are committed to serving the common good of their people and working constructively with other leaders in global society. Other delegates shared their expertise in agriculture, medicine, business and English. The project was coordinated by the Consortium for Global Education.
