Posted on 2011-11-01 by Sean Flynt (205) 726-4197

The Michael J. and Mary Anne Freeman Theatre and Dance Series at Samford University will present The Piano Lesson, by August Wilson Oct. 20–22 at 7:30 p.m. and Oct. 23 at 2:30 p.m. in Samford's Bolding Studio.

The Pulitzer Prize–winning play, set in the Great Depression, is the story of two siblings’ struggle to come to terms with their inheritance and the ghosts of their ancestors. Raising questions about family, remembrance and the legacy of slavery, The Piano Lesson promises a poignant evening of drama.

Tickets are $12 (adults,) $9 (55+) and $6 (students/children). Purchase online at arts.samford.edu or call (205) 726-2853.
