Women from throughout the state are invited to hear inspirational speaker Carolyn Ellis and attend an information forum on finances and other topics of interest to women on Tuesday, April 23.
The 2002 Signature Women's Luncheon and Forum, to be held at The Club, will benefit the new Christian Women's Leadership Center (CWLC) at Samford University. The event is sponsored by the Woman's Missionary Union Foundation in cooperation with Samford.
Ellis, a lay leader and community volunteer in Auburn, will present luncheon remarks on the topic "The Signature of Christian Women Leaders." A popular speaker on topics encouraging men and women to follow God's spirit in their individual and family lives, Ellis is married to Auburn University men's basketball coach Cliff Ellis.
Active in Auburn First Baptist Church and various community causes, she is founder of Partnership for Children, an effort to subsidize childcare for low-income working families.
Following the luncheon, planned giving consultant Kathryn Miree will lead a session on women and finances, "Essential Planning Strategies for Women." Miree is president of Kathryn W. Miree & Associates, Inc., consulting firm.
The information forum will also include information sessions on continuing education, ministry opportunities and networking. The luncheon program will begin at 11 a.m. and the information forum at 1 p.m.
Tickets for the luncheon and forum are $30 per person. Tables of eight may be reserved for $240. For reservations, call the WMU Foundation at 1-800-482-4483 or (205) 408-5525. Reservation deadline is April 15.
